The skies were cloudy and threatened rain but that wasn’t going to stop me. I’ve been resting for three days to heal my knee pain and I wanted to run.
My legs wanted to run. Badly.

This time, my only goal was to log some running time. I didn’t need to run straight. I will walk when I start to feel any sign of pain.
It worked. I was able to do 6.6k pain free.
Kernan also taught me a new running technique: keeping my strides short. I was striding smaller but faster. Much, much faster. Thing is I couldn’t sustain it yet for long periods of time.
I would make the humps around the oval as my markers and I would start walking at intervals.
I guess I could make this technique work. I just need to learn how to sustain it.
It made me wonder if there was one right way to run. That way where you can sustain it, go fast and still be pain free.
Well, the only way to find out is to keep just practicing until I figure it out.
More running to go.
I’m Jayme, a runner’s wife and a running mom to two girls aged three and two.
