About

Welcome to Fit and Pink – a health and fitness blog about getting your best bod ever through running.

Hi! I’m Jayme, a runner’s wife and a running mom to two girls aged three and two.

I write this blog to log my progress with my newfound favorite workout and sport: running. This is where I’ll share, among others:

  • lessons I learn from my running practice in terms of technique, mindset, diets and gear,
  • tips I can pick up from other runners and
  • information I gather about the sport.

I’ve only started running in April 2010 so this blog is very newbie – friendly. If you’re new to running, you can follow along with my progress and hopefully get inspired to keep running.

If you’re an expert runner, care to share some tips and advice? You’re most certainly welcome here too.

Why running?

Since I’ve given birth to my girls, I’ve always been on a mission to get in shape and be in my best body yet.

I’ve tried going to the gym, boxing, pilates and yoga. I’ve also tried taking quick fixes with weight loss pills and appetite suppressants. And though they all made me lose weight in one way or another, they were either too expensive to maintain, boring or just plain risky.

Running is the only workout I feel I can stick with for a long time until I reach my fitness goal and even way after that. I will keep running until my legs will let me.

I’ve seen and felt the benefits of running just a few weeks into it.  I believe that if you ever want to get back in shape and get healthy, running is one of the best, if not the best thing you can do for your body.

It’s challenging, it’s liberating and it’s definitely breath taking.

Running gives me the confidence that if I can do this, I can do anything. :)
